A Doctor Who Community
Saturday 8:00 PM on BBC America (Returning "Deep Breath" premiering August 23, 2014)

So....that 50th thingy was good, wasn't it?

After a few days of quiet reflection, a few things popped up - some involving the 50th and some involving future stuff.

Here's Matt Smith and David Tennant doing famous movie quotes -

* Hypable has a list of 14 things you may have missed during the 50th special

* Radio Times has an interview with Steven Moffat in which he states that Matt Smith is actually the 13th Doctor:

"On Saturday he told me Matt is actually the 13th and final doctor. John Hurt is officially now a doctor and David Tennant used up an extra regeneration during his stay.

In essence, the end of Matt at Christmas should mean the end of Doctor Who.

Where this leaves Peter Capaldi is unclear. But what Moffat would say is: "The 12 regenerations limit is a central part of Doctor Who mythology - science fiction is all about rules, you can't just casually break them."

"So if the Doctor can never change again, what's Peter Capaldi doing in the Christmas special?"

The other thing I know is that Matt's Doctor will talk of "dying" in an emotional speech on December 25."

Speaking of the Christmas Special -

* Radio Times has a brief synopsis - "In the Time of the Doctor follows Clara and the Time Lord "to a quiet backwater planet in order to learn what some strange signals mean for his very existence"."

Told you it was brief! But they also have a breakdown of the trailer and provide the first image:

The offical BBC synopsis is as follows -

"Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars – and amongst them, the Doctor.

Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe."

* Den of Geek reports that Orla Brady has been cast in a guest role and is playing "someone from the Doctor's past, with the plot of the episode revolving around her".

* Bleeding Cool thinks they have had a glimpse at a detailed outline for the Christmas special

* If you missed the film biopic, An Adventure In Space And Time, that was on as part of the 50th specials, you may have missed Matt Smiths cameo -

Mark Gatiss explains it all here

* I'm not on twitter, but according to Radio Times the 50th was quite popular - they include a lovely little infographic -

* Blogtor Who has an interview with Steven Moffat, where he discusses Peter Capaldi's costume and his Doctor's personality among other things.

* They also have an interview with Peter Daivson (here) in which discusses his 50th special, The Five(ish) Doctors

*The BBC iplayer has a behind~the~scenes making of documentary for The Day of the Doctor- but its only viewable in the UK so far

And finally...here's a deleted scene from the 50th Special-
