The 12th Doctor has been named as Peter Capaldi. I like the look of this guy, he isn't 16 as well which helps.

Peter Capald 55 years old, the same age as Willian Hartnell when he was casted for the role. Hartnell looked much older but it made have been the B/W TV. Best known for his role as the foul-mouther spin-doctor Malcolm Tucker in the BBC show "THe Thick of It". Don't know him, never heard of him but agian I had not ever herad of any of them but Davison before they became the Doctor. A wait and see as always.

Though as a Doctor Who fan you can check out his performances in The Fires of Pompeii and Torchwood Children of Earth.

Rather you like the new Doctor or not the fans must support him or it will be as it was when Tom Baker left and we will see an end of the show. As long as we fans support the show there will be other Doctors. They will get around the 12 regenerations somehow. Some will like them, some will not but there will always be another one. As fans our job is to support the show and keep the production tean on line with the storyline as best as we can. Capald has a major job ahead of him and we the fans can help him. For now the best we as fans can do is pray for him.

It is never a good start when the Doctor does not take off. Capaldi's start was not as slowed as Davison, McGannor orTennant but he was not off and running either. It really takes 3 or 4 stories before you get a good feel for the Doctor. So give Capaldi sometime. Remember he is one of us and if we want the next Docotr we must support the current one.
