    DONNA!!!
Catherine Tate was fabulous...i want her to return, i would have loved another series with her in it...she and Tennant acted off of each other to an astounding effect.
Moffet can only attempt to match series 4.

I'm fairly sure we've done this before, my favorite is Jack but as he's not an option I'll take Martha, I didn't like Rose and Donna

o dear, it's a good job were between seasons or this thread could star a war.

out of the girls ... it's hard to say ... donna i spose, just coz she didn't fancy the doctor ... martha and rose were amazing when they were companions, but since leaving their characters were kind of ruined in their reappearances coz they didn't really do much.

overall my favourites jack... he would be an awesome full time companion what with his immortality and constant flirting with aliens, and they could so much character development due to all the untold stories of his hundred odd year life (well, the child friendly ones at least lol) ... altho if he and the tenth doctor spent too long in the tardis together im pretty sure it would explode lol.

I dunno, I've always thought that Jack worked much better with the 9th Doctor. I think it's because, while the 9th Doctor had a complete lack of confidence, Jack brought confidence in bucketfuls. Whereas 10 is full of confidence, so Jack isn't really needed anymore.

I am also going to have to go with Donna. No contest really.

I am kind of surprised that none of the Rose fans have turned up yet to protest. Odd...

I picked Martha - she was the strongest of the lot. (And while it's probably not the done thing to go back into Old Who, I'd like to mention that Jamie, Zoe, Nyssa and Ace were all great too)

It has to be Donna! I use to be a dedicated Rose fan but Donna is leagues ahead of the rest. It did become tiresome of everone lusting after the Doctor so it was just nice for him to have a real friend to lark about with. I also preferred Donna because she was a bit more mature. Martha was jus annoying at times. Jack was great with his constant flirty antics with anything that moved!

    but DONNA...love DONNA!!!!

I had to pick Martha, but that's just cause I liked watching her. She technically is my favorite companion. If the vote was for opinion of Best Companion, then I would pick Donna.

I too am going with Donna for overall character developement, storyarc, and acting. Rose was a close second before they brought her back. I reckon this forum's survey results mirror the backlash of her return, they should of let her story end the first time on Bad Wolf Bay.

It's Gotta be donna. She's got the most character development and Cathrine Tate and David Tennant hve such good comedic timing.

Donna, because she was funny, she made me laugh. Fair enough, she was played by someone better known as a comedian than a straight actress, and her part may well have been written to reflect that, but even so, Donna was funny. That won me over.

Donna. She had the most depth out of all them really. Looking back, Martha was just a rush job and her subsequent appearences in Torchwood were just dire. I liked Rose for the first series, but I think they made her over-confident too quickly and it kind of stunted her growth halfway through the second series. Best example of this was The Satan Pit, where within minutes of arriving she's taking charge of survivors who don't even question who she is. Donna was great and even the stupid resetting of her personality didn't ruin her too much for me.
