  • The Doctor takes Martha to 1599. It is the heyday of Shakespeare and the Globe theatre has just opened. However, the Doctor and Martha soon uncover a plot that will bring the end of the world

A brilliant episode. I honestly didn’t think I would like this episode. However, I was proved wrong; it was one of the best episodes to date. It was very well researched and it was wonderful how they managed to get so many Shakespeare quotations into it. Two episodes in and Martha’s character is really starting to develop. I can’t wait for future episodes to see how the dynamic between the Doctor and Martha develops and how different it will be to the one between the Doctor and Rose.

As for the Doctor, on fine form as always, David Tennant has certainly made this character his own.

Overall a great performance by all and it will be interesting to see if they will go back to the Queen Elizabeth I storyline and I hope they do.
