    • TRIVIA (2)

      • Revealing Mistake: If you look closely in the wide shot of the Doctor lying on the mind-probe table with the credit pattern on the screen, you will notice the pattern appears on one edge of the metal strap holding him to the table. This is probably because the metal reflects the yellow colour that the CSO uses to overlay the image.

      • At the beginning of the episode, one shot shows the mind probe's scanner to be solid yellow with no CSO to add the special effects.

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Daleks: Where are the delegates? Where is the man Styles? They must be found and exterminated!
Shura: Oh, no. No, this time… this time it's going to be different. [Detonates bomb].

      • Dalek: You are a traitor to the Daleks. You must be exterminated!

Controller: Who knows? I may have helped to exterminate you.

      • Controller: You do not understand. Nobody who did not live through those terrible years can understand. Towards the end of the 20th Century, a series of wars broke out. There was a hundred years of nothing but killing and destruction. Seven-eighths of the world's population was wiped out. The rest were living in holes in the ground, starving, reduced to the level of animals.

    • NOTES (1)

    • ALLUSIONS (2)

      • The Doctor [ to the Controller ]: You, sir, are a traitor. A quisling!

This refers to Vidkun Quisling, the Nazi-installed president of Norway whose name became synonymous with collaborators.

      • Dalek: We have invaded Earth again!

The Daleks, while boasting to the Doctor, obliquely reference their 2150 invasion of Earth in
