Can be from the TV stories, books, movie, CDs or the animations.

Duggan from the City of Death

Christina de Souza from Planet of Death (hum two of Death)

Jackson Lake from the Next Doctor for a few stories. Unsure if he would have worked in a long run.

Kate Maguire from the BBC Books Autonomy

Does not have to be Doctor Who only.

    Sally Sparrow would've worked well.

Craig Owens , Closing Time, would add some comedy just unsure how long before it got old.

    Canton Delaware, The Impossible Astronaut

Rita, God Complex, not only would she make a good companion but think about the storyline of the Doctor meeting her knowing when and how she will die and can do nothing about it. The good-by story where he drop her off days before she is taken.

Wonder what kind of stories would have come out of the Doctor and the Master being forced to work together for a season?

The Master was there to save/lead the Doctor but they never was together 1:1 for very long and were not really having to work together. I mean more along the line of the Keys of Time type of event where they had to work together or both would come to a bad end.

Ray from Delta and the Bannermen. Kind of a quiet form of Ace. From the commentary on the DVD I think Sara Griffiths would have been great for the show.

Not to put down Jake or Mr. Stockley but Felix and Hayley from Troops. Felix could be an Adric like without the teenager attitude. Hayley could be what Mel was suppose to be before they made her into a screamer and so picky.

Just rewatched Shada. Both Chris Parsons & Clare Keightley both just step right in and went to work. Nothing threw them and both were smart enough to work along side of the Doctor.

I was listening to The Faceless Ones on a trip and really felt that Jean and Samantha would have made great companions. Jean takes control and has organizational skills. Samontha is a go get her and does not allow anything to get in her way. And the relationship between Jamie and Samantha would have been great to watch. With Polly and Ben leaving it would have been the right time. I was reading the notes inside the CD and it satated that Samantha was view as a possible companion but Pauline Collins turn down the role.
