  • The Tardis crew survive at meeting with the Monarch...

    4.0
It quickly becomes obvious in this story that there are too many people in the Tardis. While the Doctor and Adric have a variety of scenes, Nyssa keeps being put to sleep and waking up and Tegan has the ongoing scenes where she is trying to fly the Tardis. Besides that, we have many, many scenes where the Monarch and his helpers watch the dancing and play-fighting by his 'robot Earthlings'. There just isn't enough of a story for everyone to be heavily involved in. And then we have some odd acting by Bigon and the unrealistic scenes where Adric is fighting the Monarch's assistants and the Doctor is trying to reach the Tardis in space. After a confusing but interesting Castravalva, this is a step down for the series.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Revealing Mistakes: When the Doctor is trying to get to the TARDIS outside Monarch's ship, a bad CSO match occurs. The line the Doctor is attached to is clearly attached to the top of the airlock (also a continuity error) and the Doctor stops moving when he reaches the end of it. However, Adric is still feeding him line from the bottom part of the airlock.

    • Factual Errors: Since there is no air outside the Urbankan spaceship, the Doctor should not slow but simply float uniformly to the TARDIS.
