    • Stevenson: Now where're you going?
The Doctor: I smell a rat.
Stevenson: You know I sometimes wonder if your friend is quite right in the head.
Sarah Jane: If the Doctor scented a rat, he'll find one.

    • Kellman: Commander, I'm afraid you'll have to kill these people too. They brought the plague in here.
The Doctor: Who's the homicidal maniac?

  • Notes

    • Video: Doctor Who: Revenge of the Cybermen (omnibus format) (BBCV 2003) released in October 1983. Released in U.S.A./Canada (Warner Home Video E1110) in December 1986. Re-released (BBCV 4013) in May 1984. Re-released in episodic format (BBCV 6773) in April 1999.

    • Novelisation: Doctor Who and the Revenge of the Cybermen by Terrance Dicks (ISBN 0 426 10997 X) first published by Tandem in 1990.

    • This episode was shot in production order before Genesis of the Daleks. Some PBS broadcasters use the production order as given, airing Revenge out of sequence before Genesis as well.

    • In this and subsequent episodes, the underground caverns of Voga were filmed on location at Wookey Hole, at Somerset in the south of England.

    • William Hartnell, the original Doctor, died from complications arising from a stroke on 23 April 1975, 4 days after this episode was broadcast.

    • If the seal of Voga looks familiar, that's because designer Roger McManan-Smith reused it as the seal of Rassilon in Season 14's The Deadly Assassin, and from then on it became the symbol of Gallifrey and the Time Lords. It's particularly noticeable in the 1996 TV movie where it's all over the redesigned TARDIS console room.

    • The first Cyberman story since Season 6's The Invasion. This is the first mention of gold as a weakness and no such weakness was referenced in previous episodes.
