    • TRIVIA (4)

      • Near the end of this episode, Harry is seen back in uniform again. It seems odd that he should be allowed back on duty so soon after being shot.

      • The background hum heard in the the Zygons' brig would later be reused in the TARDIS console room to represent the TARDIS in flight.

      • When Caber breaks a piece off the Zygon equipment, the entire wall shakes.

      • The Brigadier, when told the Prime Minister is on the phone in the final episode, says 'Yes, Ma'am,' thus anticipating the election of Margaret Thatcher in 1979, four years after this story was made. However in Season 20's Mawdryn Undead we learn that the Brigadier retires in 1976. See Season 5's The Web of Fear for more dating problems.

    • QUOTES (5)

      • Duke of Forgill: That's the TARDIS?
The Doctor: Yes, that's the TARDIS, and I'm going to pilot it all the way to London. I can be there five minutes ago.

      • Broton: I thought you were dead.
        The Doctor: Loose thinking, Broton.
Broton: This time, I shall make certain!

      • Harry: Any news of the spacecraft, sir?
Brigadier: It was last reported travelling south over Leicester, and then they lost it. We've also had a report of a large underwater object heading south at high speed.
        Sarah Jane: Guess what!

      • Zygon [ over loudspeaker ]: Receive a message from Commander Broton: to avoid detection, all outward signals are forbidden. Internal communication will remain on half-power.
        The Doctor: Half-wit.

      • Brigadier: The Cabinet's accepted my report, and the whole affair is now completely closed. ...A fifty-foot monster can't swim up the Thames and attack a large building without some people noticing, but you know what politicians are like.
