    • TRIVIA (2)

      • Revealing Mistakes: When the Doctor is captured in the transmat, the door to K-block doesn't quite close all the way. The transmat scenery can be glimpsed on the edge of the door.

      • At the start of the episode, the TARDIS is missing as the Doctor says. But as Romana and the Doctor discuss this in the corridor , the camera tracks Romana and you can clearly see a quick shot of a familiar blue box with "POLICE" across it - in the background - does Romana need new glasses?

    • QUOTES (7)

      • Marshal: Now that you are here, you are the one.
The Doctor: I am! Am I?
Marshal: The one who will lead us to victory.
The Doctor: Oh, good-o! As long as there's no personal risk involved, of course...

      • The Doctor: [ regarding the Marshal ] Is he alright?
        Shapp: Shh! He's meditating.
The Doctor: [ whispers ] What? Does he do it often?
Shapp: If things aren't going well, he makes most of his decisions this way.
The Doctor: Well, it's no wonder things aren't going well. Standing in front of a mirror gaping and smiling at yourself like that are the first signs of megalomania!

      • Guard: Come on, move!
The Doctor: Where are we going?
Guard: The Marshal wants to see you, now.
The Doctor: That's funny. I want to see the Marshal.

      • Marshal: My apologies, Doctor.
The Doctor: Oh, that's all right, really. We all make mistakes sometimes. Don't we, K-9?
        K-9: Negative.

      • The Marshal: War is an expensive business, Doctor. But worth it.

      • The Doctor: Why should the Marshal, leader in a war against Zeos, be the only one to know of a transmit link with the enemy planet? Hmm. And why should he tell me? I think one of us is being extremely stupid.
        K-9: Affirmative.

      • The Doctor Tell me, Marshall. If you had this ultimate deterrent, what would you do?
The Marshall: Use it, of course. Make sure it works.
The Doctor: Yes, well, you have a true military mind, Marshall.
        The Marshall: Thank you.

    • NOTES (0)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Richard II: The Marshall's diatribe, "this land, this world, this Atrios", to which the Doctor adds "this blessed plot" references this play. The Doctor even notes he preferred the original speech.
