Aired Saturday 5:15 PM Mar 16, 1984 on BBC

  • Trivia

    • "Mouseholes" for cables can be seen at the base of the TARDIS walls in the final scene, notably when the Doctor is picking up Peri.

    • Continuity: When the Doctor is climbing through the tunnel to the queen bat, the image is reversed (look for the question marks on his lapel).

  • Quotes

    • Morgus: Miss Timmin, I don't like your tone!
Timmin: I wish I could say that's the only thing about you I don't like.

    • Sharaz Jek: You think bullets could stop me now? You stinking offal, Morgus. Look at me!

    • The Doctor: Too late, Peri. Going soon. Time to say goodbye.
Peri: Don't give up! You can't leave me now!
The Doctor: I might regenerate. I don't know. Feels different this time...

    • (The Doctor has just regenerated)
      Peri: Doctor?
The Doctor: You were expecting someone else?
      Peri: I-- I-- I--
The Doctor: That makes three "I"'s in one breath. Makes you sound a rather egotistical young lady.
      Peri: What's happened?
The Doctor: Change, my dear. And it seems not a moment too soon!

  • Notes

    • Peter Davison has repeatedly joked that his emotional regeneration scene was upstaged by Nicola Bryant's loose fitting outfit, which prominently displayed her cleavage.

    • All of the Fifth Doctor's companions, including Kamelion, appear in the regeneration sequence, as does the Master.

    • Final regular appearance of Peter Davison as the Doctor. Colin Baker was the only Doctor in the series' 26-year run to have dialogue in the same episode as his predecessor.
