    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (4)

      • Plot Hole: The last time the Sash of Rassilon was seen, it was wrapped tightly around the Master as he plunged through the floor of the Panopticon. It's unlikely he just left such a powerful artefact behind.

      • Continuity: The Doctor has his scarf when he first meets with the Vardans. When he returns to the TARDIS, it is on the coat rack.

      • Other Mistake: The light on top of the TARDIS remains illuminated after the Doctor lands -- and is illuminated through the rest of the story.

      • Actor Chris Tranchell, who played Andred, was Tom Baker's room-mate in 1974 and the fourth Doctor's original costume was allegedly based on Tranchell's own wardrobe...

    • QUOTES (5)

      • The Doctor: Oh, Borusa, how you used to bore me with you interminable lectures on responsibility and duty.
Borusa: Which obviously failed. You make me regret teaching you anything at all.
The Doctor: You taught me nothing. Nothing that instinct couldn't provide better.

      • Guard: It's the Chancellor's office.
The Doctor: Well, I know it's the Chancellor's office.
Guard: Well, no-one goes in there unannounced.
        The Doctor: Well, announce me.

      • The Doctor: "Guard of Honour"? You're a rabble, nothing but a rabble! You're not fit to guard a jelly baby! Would you like a jelly baby?

      • Leela: K-9? Can you tell me how long he's going to be?
K-9: Negative. Prognostication impossible in matters concerning the Doctor.

      • Leela: Are there any duties for me?
        Andred: Duties?
Leela: Yes, rites I must observe. Things I must do.
Andred: There is nothing you must do. Although Leela…
        Leela: Ummm?
Andred: Leela, if you could avoid killing anyone, it would help.
        Leela: I will try.

    • NOTES (5)

      • Rodan is the first female Gallifreyan to appear in the series since the Doctor's granddaughter, Susan.

      • Novelisation: Doctor Who and the Invasion of Time by Terrance Dicks (ISBN 0 426 20093 4) first published by W H Allen in 1980.

      • DVD: Doctor Who: The Invasion of Time (BBCDVD 2586) released in May 2008. The edition includes optional CGI effects.

Video: Doctor Who: The Invasion of Time (BBCV 6876) released in March 2000. Released in U.S.A./Canada (Warner Home Video E1011) in August 2000.

      • David Agnew was a pen-name for producer Graham Williams and script editor Anthony Read. The originally planned script, The Killer Cats of Geng Sing, fell through when scenes such as a vast stadium filled with cats proved unrealisable.

      • Borusa, from The Deadly Assassin, reappears, played by a different actor.
