The Masque of Mandragora is one of the finest episodes during the Forth Doctor, Tom Baker, and Susan Sladen years. This episode deals greed, lust for power, superstition, and ignorance. The Mandragora Helix has hitched a ride in the TARDIS and landed in Italy during the dawn of the Renascence, and twight of Superstition. The Doctor feels responsible for bringing it, so He must stop it. The Mandragora Helix is a power that sees this is the perfect time to take over the world using religion. The Doctor tries to introduce scientific explanations for all that is happening, and manages to enlighten a few. The Masque of Mandragora is action packed with fights, double-crosses, and supernatural monsters.
