    • TRIVIA (6)

      • While unconscious, the Doctor mumbles "No more janis thorns", referencing his former companion Leela.

      • Revealing Mistakes: The queen, suspended in the last few moments of life, can be seen to breathe rapidly and blink.

      • Equipment Visible: When the Doctor and Kimus are breaking into Xanxia's room, an ordinary telephone is visible on the right of the screen.

      • Plot Hole: While gravitational forces can be "balanced" between planets at very specific points, the notion of balancing them completely to cancel each other out everywhere, as depicted in the Captain's trophy room, is nonsense.

      • Revealing Mistakes: There are times in this episode where the strings holding up the Captain's trophies are visible. Additionally, the "billions of tons" of planet sways back and forth slightly.

      • Plot Hole: Mr. Fibuli reports that the aircar the Doctor tried to steal is immobilized. Yet somehow, K-9 is able to activate it. Even more puzzling is why K-9 is left in the car in the first place, since the Captain already asked his guards to catch him.

    • QUOTES (8)

      • The Doctor: Captain, you don't realise what you're doing. If you'd just listen to me-
The Captain: I shall listen to you as I hear you scream!

      • Mula: I can't get over the Mentiads. All my life, I've been taught to hate and loathe them.
K-9: The Doctor would not have instructed me to conduct you to them if he had not thought it safe. Twelve seconds.
Mula: But how could he possibly know?
K9: My subsequent analysis of their brainwave patterns indicated no malice when they attacked him.
Mula: You mean they slammed him to the wall with good vibrations?
        K9: Affirmative.

      • The Captain: Excellent, Mr. Fibuli, excellent. Your death shall be delayed.
Mr. Fibuli: Oh, thank you. Again and again, sir. Your goodness confounds me.

      • The Captain: Wag your tongue well, Doctor. It is the only weapon you have left.

      • The Captain: So, Doctor, you have survived.
The Doctor: Yes, I'm afraid I seem unable to break the habit.

      • The Doctor: [to the Captain] What is it you're really up to, huh? What do you want? You don't want to take over the Universe, do you? No. You wouldn't know what to do with it – beyond shout at it.

      • The Doctor: You won't get away with it you know.
The Captain: And what makes you so certain of that?
The Doctor: At the moment, nothing at all. But it does my morale no end of good just to say it. I've been tied to pillars by better men than you, Captain.

      • Kimus: But I don't understand.
        The Doctor: Exciting, isn't it?

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Yet another reference is made to scriptwriter Adams' radio series when the Doctor advises Kimus: "Don't Panic!"
