  • Quotes

    • Usanov: We are not out in the middle of this desert for pleasure. We're here to make money. So get on your feet and get back to work. That is an order!
Poul: Give it to a robot!

    • The Doctor: Wonder where we are?
Leela: You don't mean you know
The Doctor: Well not precisely, no.
Leela: You mean you can't control this machine?
The Doctor: Well of course I can control it. [pause] Nine times out of ten. Well. seven times out of ten. Five times… never mind. Let's see where we are.

    • Leela: Sometimes you talk like a Tesh.
      The Doctor: Thank you.
Leela: It was not well meant.

    • The Doctor: I never carry weapons. If people see you mean them no harm, they never hurt you... [thoughtfully] Nine times out of ten...

    • This episode includes the closest we are ever likely to get to an explanation of how the TARDIS can be bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.

    • This episode features the last appearance of the wood-panelled secondary control room. It was not used in the subsequent The Talons of Weng-Chiang and between seasons the panelling warped in storage due to moisture, rendering it unusable. When a control room scene was next required (in The Invisible Enemy), the original was rebuilt.
