      • Stephenson: You know, I'm finding this very hard to take in. Are you telling me that these things are inimical to the whole of animal creation?
        The Doctor: Inimical? They're lethal.
        Stephenson: How do you know?
The Doctor: Never mind how I know, Stephenson! Just take it from me! On any planet where the Krynoid gets established, all animal life is extinguished!

      • Stevenson: No, I'm afraid Winlett must have collapsed somewhere.
The Doctor: Don't you ever listen, Stevenson? Winlett, Winlett, Winlett as a man no longer exists!

      • Scorby: Turn around, Doctor.
        [The Doctor spins 360 degrees]
        Scorby: Facing this way.

      • The Doctor: There's been an accident. One of the men was infected.
        Keeler: By the pod?
        Sarah Jane: He went mad.
The Doctor: Yes, you could say he's not quite himself.

      • Scorby: Now then, Doctor, let's have the truth. Where's the plant that came out of the pod?
The Doctor: That grew in the bed that was part of the garden close to the house that…
        Sarah Jane: …that Jack built.
Scorby: I'm not a patient man, Doctor.
The Doctor: Well, your candor does you credit.

      • Scorby: Okay, start talking.
The Doctor: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart had perfect pitch.
Scorby [pointing at corpse]: What happened to him?
The Doctor: Who? Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart? Oh, him? Oh, he died.
