    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • Revealing Mistake: In the very brief medium shot after the first guard on the transport has been stunned by K-9, the unconscious guard moves his arms and legs.

      • Continuity: After shooting the two guards near the beginning of this episode, K9's nose blaster retracts twice – one in close-up, once in medium shot.

    • QUOTES (6)

      • Computer: Attention all citizens. Attention all citizens. Stand by for an important Company bulletin. Have you seen this man? He is an anti-company agent, wanted for acts of terrorism. Gatherer Hade will pay a reward of 5,000 talmars for information leading to the capture of this gangster, dead or alive.
        Synge: Hey, 5,000!
The Doctor: Peanuts! It's an insult. Droge of Gabrielides offered a whole star system for my head once.

      • K9: Satisfactory, Mistress?
Leela: Yes, K9. Do you want a biscuit?

      • Mandrel : What have we got to lose?
        The Doctor: Only your claims.
        Bisham : Well put, Doctor.
The Doctor: Oh it was nothing. I have a gift for the apt phase.

      • The Collector: How did you get to Pluto?
        Leela: By accident, as usual.

      • The Doctor: K9, I don't know how to say this…
K9: Your concern is noted, Master. Please do not embarrass me.

      • Mandrel: Why did the Gatherer give you this money?
The Doctor: Maybe he liked my face.
Mandrel: You know what I think?
The Doctor: Ah-ah! That's a catch question - with a brain your size, you don't think, right?
Mandrel : Listen, Doctor, we can do this the easy way…
The Doctor: ...or we can do it the hard way. I've heard that one too.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • When Mandrel asks, "What have we got to lose?", the Doctor replies "Only your claims." This is a reference to the Communist Manifesto's treatise on worker rebellion which contained the phrase: "What have you got to lose? Only your chains!"
