Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • Continuity: When the Master's TARDIS appears in the console room, the Doctor and Jo shift positions.

    • Plot Hole: If the V-1 was brought forward in time and exploded over the UNIT convoy, why does the Yokel remember it exploding in the same place in 1944?

    • Equipment Visible: When the Master first enters the TARDIS, the power cord to the crystal box can be seen taped to the floor.

    • For this serial only, the TARDIS interior has a new design: A sort of "washing-up bowl" pattern, created by show designer Tim Gleeson, decorates the walls. In The Three Doctors, the interior returns to its former appearance.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Ruth: Why are you men so spineless?
Stuart: Lovey, I'm not men. I'm Stuart Hyde, registered, card-carrying, paid-up coward.

    • Krasis: I am Krasis, high priest of the temple of Poseidon.
The Doctor: Greetings to you, Krasis. Any friend of the Master's is an enemy of mine.

    • The Doctor: "If the Thraskin puts his fingers in his ears, it is polite to shout." That's an old Venusian proverb.
      Jo: What's a Thraskin?
The Doctor: Thraskin? Oh, it's an archaic word, seldom used since the 25th dynasty. The modern equivalent is "plinge".
      Jo: What does "plinge" mean?
The Doctor: For heaven's sakes, Jo, I've just told you. It means "Thraskin".
      Jo: Of course.

    • The Master [ of the Doctor ]: You know, he has an excellent brain, that man, though a little pedestrian. But, oh dear, what a bore that fellow is!

    • Stuart: It's a daft idea, anyway! I've had one basin-ful, and I don't feel much like walking into another. You heard what the Doctor said!
Ruth: You know, Stuart, for a so-called member of the "dominant sex", you're being remarkably feeble!
Benton: Hey, hey! Is this a private fight, or can anyone join in?
