  • A strong contender for the worst episode of Doctor Who ever.

    2.5
Everything that was dreadful about the first part of the shockingly dire Time and the Rani is present in its poor follow up episode. The worst thing about this story is not the garish costumes, dodgy effects or ham fisted musical score (although the musical score does come close) but the way the Doctor is made out to be a complete blithering idiot. Sylvester McCoy does his best with the poor material presented to him, but the longer he falls for the Rani's ridiculous disguise (which amounts to nothing more than a ginger wig and pink outfit) the more idiotic his character seems. Idiocy is not supposed to be a trait of the Doctor's, post regeneration or not. Considering the poor quality of this episode it's a miracle the show managed to continue for another two years at all.moreless
