Well even after cancellation, Family Guy was brought back due to online popularity and dvd sales, so perhaps there's still hope. Maybe..

We can hope that the insanely dedicated fan base grows if Dollhouse gets picked up for syndication. That's how I found Family Guy.

True, I found Family Guy through someone's iPod, so there's always a possibility.

Hard for the show to get discovered on a Friday night. If it does gets canceled, lets hope it has the same faith as family guy which actually came back because of popular reruns. But Dollhouse would have too little episodes syndication though. :/

I guess they gave it that slot, cause all their other good shows are doing too well to move them.

Fox is notorious for canceling shows. Eliza Dushku's last show, Tru Calling, was canceled after 6 episodes of its second season. Dark Angel was canceled at the end of its second season, ending with a cliffhanger. So it won't surprise me if Fox is stupid and does it again.

I really hope they have learned from their mistakes though and it won't get the ax so early or that it will at least get a proper sendoff if it does get the ax later.

    Maybe they just hate Eliza.

Yeah it is kinda hard to be discovered on Friday. Its up against two other great shows. I had the problem of choosing which to watch; Medium, Dollhouse, or Stargate Universe. I taped SGU so that left flipping back and forth between Medium and Dollhouse.

Jesus Christ, sometimes I just hate tv networks. There's nothing on their mind but money. They couldn't care less if the shows they air are good, as long as they rake in the ratings.
Dollhouse is clever, entertaining and has a dedicated fanbase.
Shows like The Hills (I'm aware it's a different newtwork and all) are awful mindless shows, and I bet MTV knows it. However, it's making them money, so they don't care.

Would it really be doing THAT much harm to leave it on the air? I mean, what else are they gonna' show anyway? Re-runs? Fox can go frick itself.

Yep, that's why there are so many stupid reality shows. They're insanely cheap to make!

Networks know that they're stupid, but as long as people watch them, they will keep cranking out reality shows because they seem to be worth the little cost. Profits are incredible for them!

This is a reason why NBC is backing Leno so much, in spite of dismal ratings. They're making a profit with the show.

So, yeah, just another reason to hate networks.

    Yeah, they're the devil.
I wish there was some independent network setup for all the awesome shows that don't get huge ratings.
Oh, well. That's life. There's just no room for the little guy.

Here in Hong Kong, they seem to air all the cancelled shows. Maybe they are cheaper so I bet Dollhouse will be aired here soon. With only 2 season, syndication possibilities are slim. Really can't compare this show to Buffy or Angel. I think this show failed as we never got to know the characters since they keep taking on different persona. How do you get attached to them? I mainly kept watching because of Eliza the actress and not Echo the character. They were just too slow to develop Echo - for me any way. Would have done better to do a Faith Spin Off!

Yeah, that's a good point. Although I'm only 4 episodes in, I feel that the characters aren't very strong.
But also, I think it is much Harder for a show to avoid cancellation thesedays, as compared to when Buffy was around. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems that way. Oh, and a Faith spin-off would be soo awesome!

That's true. It seems like the networks, especially Fox, are too eager to cut their losses on new shows. They're not willing to let them grow into their own.

One week from now we'll be in the middle of watching a new episode! Or we'll be done with the new episodes by 30-something minutes. I don't know, I was already bad with times and now they're airing two each Friday and I don't know if that's starting an hour earlier or ending an hour later. But yeah, Dollhouse in a week.
