They trumped it up to being the 'maternal instinct' being too strong as the imprint was on a glandular level.

Which doesn't explain the retaining of skills which are unrelated to being maternal. I understand how they tried to explain it in the dialogue but what we saw wasn't even consistent with that explanation.

I get that Echo has quite a number of abilities from previous imprints that she can access (if not fully understand) but from Adelle and Topher's perspective these kind of actions would raise questions which their "maternal instinct" theory just doesn't deal with.

Bad writers!! No cookie for you!

I thought it was a great episode last night, not as good as last week's though.

I enjoyed the engagement of the week this time, I think the two this season have been far better than most of last season's. Eliza give a great performance, especially towards the end.

The last scene was brilliant, I thought it was similar to the end of Vows but better. Echo is massively improving as a lead character.

I liked Madeline, great to see Miracle Laurie back and I'm still really hoping they make her a regular and soon.

Anyway, not one of the best episodes so far but much better than the previous "engagement-of-the-week" episodes and next week's looks really, really good! Seems like it will be our first

Oh and Echo punching Topher was one of my fave moments, I just didn't expect it at all when I really should have and also Alexis Denisof's American accent is taking a lot of getting used to, I'm so used to his English one.

The ratings are in and we got 2.1 million viewers this week. A new record!

    How low can we go?

I know I'm excited to find out.

I didn't hear a difference in his accent. It still sounded British to me.

It would help if they gave it a better night, or at least a decent lead in.

If they wait until January they can use American Idol as it's lead in.

Oh, I don't think it's getting cancelled. They'll just have to reduce the budget again. Season 3 will be Echo and Ballard doing shadow puppet theatre and here's a sneak peak at the new imprinting chair.

I'm not 'happy' but I'm not going to sweat it. Fox can't really be expecting good ratings anyway with such terrible lead-ins.

They can make a special AI Extra show for Fridays at 8. It's a winner!

Ughh these ratings..I just don't understand how it could be like this. With all the hype this summer, I was sure it would get SOME new viewers.

But lets not get depressed just yet. Come one, come on...everybody to Hulu. Watch Dollhouse.

And there is still the DVR ratings. I think what gave DH a second season was Hulu and DVR. So lets be hopefull...but on the other hand we may only have 10 episodes left. Lets enjoy it while it lasts.

There are lots of little things that bothered me. I don't understand how Echo got out of the Dollhouse so easily after she punched Topher. I would think there would be a security protocol for getting outside. And why was there a key in the ignition?

Sierra/Kelly arrived at the house much too quickly. They should have been able to intercept her before she could leave the car in the driveway.

And it seemed Adele waited too long before calling Nate to inform him that Echo is heading there. How close to the Dollhouse does he live?

In general, the Dollhouse doesn't seem to think out the engagements well enough. No matter how many times things to wrong, they seem not to plan for problems. I suspect Nate could have hired a wet nurse for much less money and get the positive results hoped for.

2.1 million? That is just terrible. Even my optimism is beginning to fall .

Though like Adam says, they seriously cannot be expecting much better. Isn't it's lead-in some sucky comedy?

Hulu counts as a view? Do you haft to watch it all the way through on Hulu, or just click to the episode to count as a hit?
