He shows Doug a video about Bluffington and introduces him to the popular hangout fast food restaurant called The Honker Burger. When Doug gets to the hangout, he meets Skeeter Valentine who befriends him right away. Doug also meets Patti Mayonnaise and right away, has a secret crush on her. However, all is not well when he also meets the local bully Roger Klotz who tricks Doug into believing he has to catch a monster called a Neematoad at Stinsen's Pond to be a town hero.moreless

  • A fun introduction to a very likable character.

    8.0
Doug is such a nice kid and there is so much to like about them. He sits through Mr. Dink's Bluffington video without complaining, even though he just wanted to know where to get a bite to eat. He easily makes new friends when he gets to Honker Burger, including the amazingly-dressed and amazingly-bright blue Skeeter. He is full of ambition which was on display when he decided he would bag a neematoad. He's also a bit of a dreamer. We see that in the many visions he has of possible reactions to himself or his decisions. He's even smooth enough to not mess up his first meeting with Patti Mayonnaise. To top it all off, he has a great dog named Porkchop that is there to help him through all of his adventures. Porkchop pretending to be a neematoad and allowing Doug to catch him is a sweet moment.moreless
  • How it all beggins

    9.0
Doug is a vey skeptical person and doesn't know if he'll fit in Bluffington. I remember though him getting introduced to the Honker Burger and getting Skeeter showing Doug the ropes. When Doug sees Patti, he immidiatly asked with the read heart shaped eyes, " who is that"? Then i remember Doug accidentaly getting ketchup on Roger Klotz's shoes. That initiates Rojers rage, and Rojer is querulous about it, the natural bully that he is. Making Doug look pretty silly he tells Doug that he has to catch a Nemitode, which is really a fictional creature made up by who even knows. I really don't know what happeds to doug but i guess i'll find out latermoreless
  • What a great episode.

    7.2
I liked this episode very much. In this episode the characters all showed their own personalities very well. This was a very well done episode for a pilot. This show started a huge trend of "Doug" fans. Basically it showed the neighborhood Doug moved to, and the Honker Burger, which is the cool place to eat. The friends of Doug were introduced also, and this episode also showed Doug's rival, which is Roger. Doug must go through a made up event of catching an animal in a lake, Roger said it was the way to be noticed, and so Doug attempts it.moreless
