    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • After Mr. Dink falls down the roof and into the bush in "Doug's Nightmare on Jumbo St." Doug and Tippy run over to help him, but Tippy is green instead of her usual purple color.

    • QUOTES (2)

      • (Doug stops at the Sporting Goods store with enough money to get a Smash-O brand skateboard, but somehow isn't happy about how he treated his friends earlier.)
Bill Bluff: (exiting the Sporting Goods store with a skateboard)Well, if it isn't Durk, the little business man! How's business?
Doug: Excuse me, Mr. Bluff, but it's Doug. What would you do if your friends got mad at you and went on strike?
Bluff: Dump 'em. You can always get new friends, but a good business is hard to come by.
Doug: Well, I like the friends I've got.
Bluff: Listen, Durk. I'm going to give some advice: People are either your employees or your friends.
(Doug thinks about it for a second, then realises that his friends are more important.)
Doug: Wow! (He puts what he has saved in his pocket then leaves the Sporting Goods store.) Uh, thanks, Mr. Bluff.

      • (After Roger's friends admit to not seeing the end of the movie)
Boomer: Duuhhhh and you pretended to cough so you didn't have to see the screen!
Roger: What? That was for real! I had a Gummy caught in my throat!

    • NOTES (2)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • During the dream sequence where Doug confronts Porkchop as the abnormal, Porkchop responds in a sort of Jack Nicholson like tone. Porkchop then says "Hereeeeeee'sss PORKCHOP!" which is a direct reference to the 1980 film, The Shining.
