    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • In "Doug Rocks", Roger's shirt which says "Beets" is spelled backwards in some scenes. Also if you look closely, Roger's skin turns white rather than green.

    • QUOTES (10)

      • Skeeter: And for the bonus round: the original name of the Beets is...
        Doug: The Pickeled Feet?

      • Doug: What was that?!
Mr. Dink: The complete works of Ludwig Von Beet. Isn't it moving?
Ms. Dink: Yes, dear, in fact I'm leaving.

      • Roger: This concert is S.O.S. -- Sold Out Suckers!

      • Skeeter's Dad: Alright, buddy boy! You're...you're...that thing where you can't leave your room because I said so!
        Skeeter: Grounded?

      • Flounder (of The Beets): (singing) I eat my sugared cereal, but it makes my teeth bacterial!

      • Roger: Skunky Beaumont was just walking through the forest, when out of nowhere, a tree started punching him! Hear that, Funnie? A punching tree!

      • Roger: From now on, everything is going to be different between you and me. I think we're going to be real good friends. In fact, to show you just how close we are, when we get back home, I'm gonna come over to your house more often for dinner. (sticks a "kick me" sign on Doug's back) And, I may need to borrow your bike. And if you're lucky, I may just let you loan me some money.

      • Mr. Valentine: One! Two! TEN!

      • Radio DJ: What was the beets first single?
        Skeeter: Uhhhhh...Doug do you know?
        Doug: Beats me?
Radio DJ: Beets me? That is correct! You just won tickets to see the Beets LIVE in concert!

      • Doug: So did you have fun at the concert, Roger?
Roger: Well with my binoculars I could almost--Let's just say I was a lot closer than you!

    • NOTES (3)

      • The Bluff Scouts and The Beets are mentioned for the first time in this episode. We also see Skeeter's house and his room (before moving to the basement) for the first time in this episode. The Beets are a combination of classic rock The Beatles and punk rock founders The Ramones.

      • Episode b) features The Beets song "Killer Tofu".

      • In "Doug Rocks", when Doug and Skeeter are talking in Skeeter's room, you can see a little bumper-sticker-sized poster on the wall, which says 'VISIT VIRGINIA'. This is, of course, a reference to Doug's creator, Jim Jinkins, who was born in Henrico County, Virginia.
