Judy slightly breaks the fourth wall by asking if Roger is the 'blue one', referencing one of the many off-colors to their skin. This reference is never noted through the rest of the series or by any other characters.
There are several other cast members in the pageant besides Doug, Patti, Chalky, Skeeter, and Roger and his gang. (You see them in the dressing room in between their acts) But at the end of the pageant, none of them are in the bows. And not only that, Beebe made a short appearance dressed as the fork, but she is also not in the bows (or on stage during the second half of the pageant).
(Roger is reciting Shakespeare to the restroom mirror as his gang and Doug look on) Boomer: Your sister's ruined him! Willy: Yeah, now we're lacking an adequate role model! Boomer: I'm having an identity crisis!
Judy: (wanting to know who Roger is) Is he the blue one? Doug: No, that's Skeeter. This is Roger!
Doug and his friends perform the Founder's Day Pageant again in episode 62 "Doug Directs".
Skeeter makes a reference to the episode "Doug Can't Dig It" when he talks about why Judy was chosen to direct.
The episode "Doug's Worst Nightmare" is included on the Nickelodeon tape "Mushfest - Nickelodeon Falls in Love" released in 1993.
