Downton Abbey: Looks Like Jessica Brown Findlay has left the building.

Hi Guys,

The official cast list for the 2011 Downton Abbey Christmas special does not list Jessica Brown Findlay among the cast. I wonder if Jessica, who plays Lady Sybil Crawley, will be back for the new season next year? Obviously she goes off and marries Branson but does that mean that Lady Sybil has disappeared for good? I hope not. Also, Julian Fellowes is known for deliberately pulling rabbits out of hats, so he's probably left her off the cast list deliberately to make us all think. She isn't in any of the official photos, though, and that could have more meaning.

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

This is the only bit that worries me I really hope they find a way to incorporate her into next season storyline, she will be very much missed otherwise.

Yes, once again, I agree. It would be just too 'odd' not to have the three sisters there. I realise she has obviously run off with Branson to Ireland but it will still seem very strange if she isn't a Season 3 regular.

As far as I know, Sybil and Branson weren't in the Christmas special, for whatever reason, but will be back in series 3.

Depending on the time lapse between series, it might allow for her to be back home shortly before her baby is due. Having family around (good medical care in case in hard labour and then help and attentions for a while) is always nice when a baby is born.

Surely she will be back. They moved to Ireland just before the 20s, so the Irish war for independence should be just about done. They are probably gong to include the Irish partition in 1922.

She might be coming back (hope so), or the actress might have something else lined up to work on, we'll have to wait and see, I suppose.

As far as I know she is in Labyrinth but I believe they are done filming.

Hmmm. I suppose we should keep an eye on what Allen Leech is doing as well given that if Sybil comes back, Branson will almost certainly be with her.

I hope she IS back in Series 3. This show is huge globally and I would stay with it for as long as it runs if I were her. Michelle Dockery has had a zillion other offers but she is staying. I'm glad, as she is my favourite bit yes, definitely want Jessica back as well.
