I thought it was a nice return to the series, everything picked up where it left off really well. And without spoiling too much, I'm enjoying the brother-in-law relationship that's developing with Matthew and Tom Branson. Have you not seen it yet? If not you won't be disappointed.

Yes, I have seen it and, like you, I thought the continuity was excellent. A great script and terrific acting. I was very impressed with the way Isobel and Matthew stood up for Branson and the rest of the cast seemed right at home, which was just how it should be.

    A great season opener. Smile

I agree with you both, I thought I might need to rewatch bits and pieces of season 2 to be ready for season 3 but it felt as if the s2 finale had aired last week.

I very much enjoyed the all the different social clashes and I also like it how there's still some drama in Matthew/Mary's relationship as opposed to showing it through rose-coloured glasses now that they are to marry (or as good as married for that matter).

Branson/Matthew bonding together was terrific indeed! Isobel and Violet keep being my fav ladies, I can't have enough of them.

Looks like it might be Edith's time to find love but I guess it won't be a thornless rose either...

No, they can't make it easy for Edith wen it has been so full of angst for everyone else. My only problem with poor old Edith (apart from the whole business with the Turkish Ambassador) is her tendency to fall for every unattached man who crosses her path! Like you, I am pleased that it has not all been smooth sailing for Mary and Matthew and things are certainly not exactly simple for Sybil and Tom either. Such a great show!

Sorry if this is not the thread to ask but where should we comment on episode 2?
