The episode begins with Jonathan in the bar talking with Julie and Stanley about his most recent checkup. All three discuss how Jonathan is not is the best shape. Julie tells Jonathan how she wants to be a physical therapist. Jonathan asks her to trade physical therapy time in exchange for counseling from him. Julie instead asks for guitar lessons.
When the workouts begin, Jonathan does pushups, even though he claims that he is "bleeding internally" as a result.
At home, Jonathan talks with Ben about his own health, and the two of them comment about how Ben is a little overweight. Jonathan tries to get Ben to vow to treat his body with respect, but that doesn't really work out.
Jule tells Jonathan that she's like to play guitar, but Jonathan just tells her strum like he does. He then starts singing "She'll Be Comin' Round The Mountain," and tells Julie not to play.
Jonathan and Stanley talk about going to a gym. Jonathan says how he doesn't like the idea of going to a gym because he is afraid other men will make fun of his body. Stanley says he'll defend Jonathan, saying he was competing in a competition for being frail.
Ben goes to the office, and asks Laura out again, this time asking her out to the musical Nunsense.
Julie and Jonathan have another guitar lesson. He tells her he wrote a song about her, even though there is only one word, "Julie."
