- Julie Barr: When I was in first grade I was five feet tall - the teachers had to stop the kids from playing Gulliver with me! Gulliver's Travels is a novel by Jonathon Swift about a normal-size human named Gulliver who travels to different lands and encounters tiny people and giants. In one part, Gulliver is tied down when many of the tiny people attack him with ropes.
