WB adds two new shows to spring schedule

The WB network announced they will be premiering two new series this March, reality contest Survival of the Richest and relationship comedy Modern Men. Both shows will attempt to offer new twists on popular themes.

The romantic comedy Modern Men, premiering Friday, March 17, stars Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman) as a psychiatrist attempting to help "cure" three boyhood freinds of their grown-up women problems. Cheers alumnus George Wendt also shows up in this series from megaproducer Jerry Bruckheimer. A midseason replacement with a similar premise, ABC's Jake In Progress, starring John Stamos, was pulled from the schedule in its second season due to low ratings.

A combination of The Apprentice and Surreal Life could describe Survival of the Richest, premiering Friday, March 31. Survival pairs seven young rich people, worth a combined $3 billion, with seven poor young folks who carry a collective debt of $150,000 ...

Battlestar Galactica (2003)

Season One

One of the most highly anticipated television DVD releases is finally here! Well, sort of. What's being sold exclusively through Best Buy beginning July 26 is the UK version of the boxed set. The main difference between these episodes and what we've seen on the Sci-Fi Channel is that the episodes here feature a different opening than those in the US, as these are the versions that have been shown on SkyOne in the UK. This set has been previously available in the UK, but it has now been formatted so that it's compatible with DVD players in North America. The four discs here contain all 13 episodes as well as deleted scenes.

The remake of Battlestar Galactica has been better than anyone had any reason to believe it would be. First of all, the actors and actresses are fantastic ...

Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman was a show that focused on Dr. Mike, a woman doctor in a time when that was unheard of. It started with her journey to Colorado Springs to be the town's physician after her father's death in 1868. The show focused around the town that she loved, treated and it also focused on the three children, Matthew (Chad Allen), Colleen (Erika Flores, later Jessica Bowman) and Brian Cooper (Shawn Toovey), whom she had to raise after their mother died from a rattle snake bite. In the later years, the show focused on Dr. Mike and Sully (Joe Lando) who got married and had a daughter towards the end of the shows successful run. There have been two movies made for television, and fans are gathering together in an effort that a third Dr. Quinn movie be produced.moreless
