This movie gave some closure to the series. Having traveled from high society life to a pioneer doctor in the west, Michaela always dreamed to start her own hopsital. In an unfortunate way, though, her dream came true when her mother dies and leaves her a sufficient amount to start that hopsital, which was near the end of this movie. She travels back to Colorado Springs, wrapping up the series with her dream coming true.
However, I am very disappointed in the sloppy way they did the credits. Jane Seymour and Joe Lando were credited with their opening scene shots as in the series, but why were Jessica Bowman and Shawn Toovey not done the same way? Instead they were credited after the opening theme. And as many times as they guest starred in the show, I see it a slap in the face that Georganne Johnson and Elinor Donahue are credited at the end of the movie.
