  • A forgotten show, for good reason

    1.0
Ever since TV started showing syndicated programs, none can ever match the incompetence of Dr. Simon Locke.

A quickly produced (and somewhat ill-conceived) run-of-the-mill Canadian medical drama about a eager young doctor (Sam Groom) who settled down in some nondescript Canadian whistlestop called Dixon Falls and soon has a mentor in Dr. Sellers (Jack Albertson).

Little else is known about the show, save the stories about it being plagued by production problems, lack of continuity, and of course the overall slipshod presentation. And all because it was benefited by an FCC ruling in 1971 that mandated that all TV Networks must set aside the 6-7 pm (CST) slot for non-network "local programming" which never came to fruition & that's where syndicated TV shows came to be.

The strangest thing however despite grievous criticism by reviewers, this show managed to last an astounding 78 episodes (even changing the title in the 2nd season to Police Surgeon) before being mercifully euthanized.moreless
