This is the first real episode of the series starts. The pilot introduced us to everyone but here is where all of the kinks visable in the pilot, grainy shots, set, Lucard's accent and even special effects, are smoothed out. We don't get to see too much of Lucard. They added the witty piece about the destruction of the town as a filler, but it was a memorable line.
This story is more about Max and Gustave. Max is trying to find his way though the new and exciting world of vampire hunting and Gustave is getting to let go of the past, via his old girlfriend.
All and all a good episode.moreless
