In this episode, the detectives are working the day watch out of Homicide, North Hollywood Division.
Mr. Leland: Are you sure it was murder? He didn't just die of his own personality?
Vic: (laughs) He wasn't a friend of yours then?
Mr. Leland: Or anyone else I know of. Flynn was as mean and miserable as any human being you could find.
Vic: Well that doesn't give anybody the right to kill him.
Mr. Leland: Don't look at me. If I'd have killed him, I wouldn't be talking about him like this.
Carl: Then does this mean that we can't count on you here for any of your help?
Mr. Leland: Oh, I love cops. I'll tell you everything I know. Of course, I don't know anything. If I did, you wouldn't!
Vic: OK, Mr. Leland, why don't you tell us everything you don't know.
(discussing the murder victim)
Vic: He definitely bought it someplace else.
Carl: He'd have had to. Do you have any idea what it costs to park in one of these places one day?
