Once again, I had chills watching an episode of Dragnet which originally aired when I was 5.
In 30 minutes we watched a review of the life of a good kid, with a good upbringing, and engaged parents, whose son made that "one tragic mistake" that let him down the trail of pot smoker, turned pill popper, turned strung-out heroin addict.
The end of the 2nd scene (at about 7:30) and the conversation with the "Pot is harmless"-teaching Professor could have been filmed today. (or rather the day before Election Day)... We know the old saying, "If we don't learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it," it can't be emphasized any stronger.
But we still haven't learned...
