\"The Kidnapping\" provides a good, solid entry into the 1960\'s version of Dragnet. It doesn\'t offer anything spectacular or something that would make it stand out as episodes like \"The Big LSD\" do, but it\'s entertaining none-the-less, has a well-constructed plot, provides some good moments for both Friday and Gannon, and gives the characters the opportunity to get some outdoor, on-location scenes rather than being cooped up in interior sets.
As is the pattern on Dragnet, this episode makes use of several recurring actors. Dragnet is perhaps the only show to have used the same actors in so many different roles. And while the audience no doubt becomes familiar with many of these faces over time, it doesn\'t seem to detract from the believability of the characters or the stories at all. All three recurring actors here play their roles well.
