      • When Claude Stroup, under interrogation, begins recounting everything he did on December 23rd, Friday barks "Back up!", meaning that he wants Stroup to start from an earlier point in the day. But Stroup ignores the comment and Friday does not reiterate his order, he just lets Stroup continue on speaking as he was.

      • The first time this episode aired (during season 2) on December 21, 1967, the title says Dragnet 1968. It broadcasts again 2 years later in 1969, but with the opening title of Dragnet 1970. It ships on the DVD discs, though, in season 2 (Dragnet 1968) and not in season 4 (Dragnet 1970).

      • This episode is a remake of the Dragnet episode "The Big Little Jesus" which aired on December 24th, 1953. Ralph Moody, Herb Vigran, and Harry Bartell also guest starred in that episode, each playing the exact same roles.

      • Joe Friday's girlfriend is always mentioned throughout the series, but was never seen in any episodes.

      • This is the series only Christmas episode.

      • This was Barry Williams first credited acting role. He would begin his role as Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch about two years after this appearance.

      • Bobby Troup is best known for his future role as Doctor Joe Early on Emergency. Jack Webb also created the series in 1972.
