  • Well, it was ok

    2.5
This episode isn't very appealing, to say the least. It only sets Goku on a trip to King Kai's, though nothing else is revealed and we do not see any other villains. It only shows King Yemma greeting Goku in the afterlife and him beginning his trip on Snake Way. There isn't much happening about the Raditz aftermath either. Piccolo takes Gohan in order to train him. Krillin and Bulma nab Raditz's scouter in order to investigate its technology, and Chi-Chi wants to find out what happened to Goku and Gohan. Overall, it's a very informative episode, but it's not the grand scale that the best dbz episodes are rated upon.moreless

Krillin and the others mourn Goku's death, but at the same time have a sense of relief since Master Roshi had taken Goku's body. Krillin takes the scouter off of Raditz's dead body and hands it to Bulma. After tampering with the circuitry, she notices that it is far more complicated than modern circuitry, and will have to analyze it later. Piccolo shockingly regenerates his arm and asks to train Gohan to prepare for the other two Saiyans. They all object to the idea, but when Piccolo threatens to kill them on the spot, they give in and let him have Gohan. They split up and go their separate ways

In the Underworld, Goku and Kami plead with King Yemma to allow Goku to train under King Kai, who lives at the end of the treacherous Snake Way. Since Goku had committed to a life of good and saved the earth several time, he is allowed to travel to King Kai's at his own expense. One of King Yemma's underlings drives Goku to the head of the Snake Way, while at the same time Krillin is elected to tell Chi-Chi of Goku's death and Gohan's kidnapping. Meanwhile, Chi-Chi phones Master Roshis but unfortunately reaches his answering machine. Chi-Chi predicts that Gohan will wind up on another island somewhere, and when he climbs a tree for a banana he will be bitten by a snake and die.

Goku finally arrives at the mouth of Snake Way and is astonished at the seemingly never-ending road that lie before him. He asks King Yemma's underling how long the road is and is even more astonished to learn that it is one million kilometers in length. The underling also tells him that the only other person to make the journey was King Yemma himself. Goku tells the underling to relay a message to Fourtune Teller Baba to tell Master Roshi not to wish Goku back until a year passes. With that said, he flies off to his destiny with King Kai.

Meanwhile, Piccolo lands in the middle of a pond and screams at Gohan to wake up. When he doesn't, he drops him in the pond, which instantly wakes him. Gohan turns around to see Piccolo and wants to know where his father is, so Piccolo tells him about how he had injured Raditz and of Goku's noble sacrifice. He tells Gohan about the other Saiyans that are on the way, and of how they will need his help as well. Gohan says he doesn't have any hidden power and doesn't want to train. Piccolo grabs him by the head and throws him at a mountain. Out of anger, Gohan forms a Energy aura around him and blows the mountain away in a single Energy blast.
