  • A filler episode you can like.

    8.0
Gohan runs into a small town that's being owned by a rich guy that fortified a shelter in order to protect the town from Cell. Gohan decides to enjoy a moments time with Lime and his grandfather, and also opened the eyes of the town that there is still hope. Goku arrives, and the grandfather says his regards to the two for the upcoming tournament.

Aside from the Garlic Jr. arc, most of the Dragonball Z standalone filler episodes have been very enjoyable, including this one. Firstly, it was just badass seeing that grandfather pwn all of those guards, though it was also pretty cool seeing Mercenary Tao making a re-appearance. Plus, the atmosphere was just so calm and relaxing, much like the previous episode. Solid episode overall.moreless
  • Pure filler; Gohan's getting groceries for his mother and goes to a village where the people have created a shelter in an attempt to protect themselves against Cell.

    6.8
For a filler episode, this was not bad; it was just nothing special, either. My favorite filler still remains the one where Goku and Piccolo try to get their drivers' licenses, but this one wasn't terrible.

However, I like when filler episodes give us more insight to particular characters, and this didn't do much of anything in that respect. We did get to see an old villain from the Dragonball series, though.

I gave this filler the rating that I did because I've seen much worse, but I've also seen better. Also, although Gohan is not, in my opinion, the most interesting character in terms of personality, it certainly is exciting to see his power and combat skills increase, even more so than the others', since we've already seen them grow in the Dragonball series. He's come a long way from the snotty-nosed, pampered kid in the first Dragonball Z episode.moreless
