Episode Summary

EDIT
Androids 19 and 20 nearly kill Yamcha. Fortunately, the other Z Fighters arrive on the scene to confront them. Krillin takes Yamcha away to get him a Senzu Bean. Meanwhile, revelations await Goku, Tien and Piccolo. It turns out that this is all about Dr. Gero wanting to make Goku pay for destroying the Red Ribbon Army years ago. Dr. Gero had certainly been meticulous – spending years watching, calculating, and collecting various DNA samples to achieve victory. With more innocents in danger, the three Z Fighters convince the two Androids to take the fight to a more isolated area. Once there, the Super Saiyan Goku takes on Android 19.moreless

  • Dragged out talking. I'd prefer dragged out fighting.

    7.1
Goku and the others caught the other androids while they were sucking away Yamcha's power. Goku suggested another location that won't endanger any human beings, but Android 20 just blasted away half of the city! Even with that, the two androids agreed to Goku's terms to locate to another place. They flew for a while, until 20 decided to pick a place. He explained the story of how they all came to be; a device was implanted within Goku that monitored all of the fighting he has gone through, making the androids capable of battling Goku. Though one thing was out of their calculations; the super saiyan stage! Goku will battle Android 19 to see how he fairs against Gero's research.

Another wasted episode. The only thing that's giving this viewing credibility is 20 blasting half of the city. It perfectly dispalyed the evilness and emotionless the androids possess supported by their comments before and afterwards, as well as their agreement to fly with Goku to another area, making the destruction of the city pretty much useless. Also, the story of how Gero constructed the androids was a bit interesting. Using Goku as a layout for his battle machines was a brilliant idea. Other than that, most of this episode is wasted on pointless flying and talking. The talking is necessary, but it feels extremely dragged out. I'd rather see dragged out fighting instead of dragged out talking.moreless
