  • Cell's completion marks the beginning of the beginning

Cell's completion marks the beginning of the beginning. The entire episode focused relatively on the completion of Semi Perfect Cell with extraordinary animations and grandiose choreography. The music by Shunsuke Kikuchi is good and and he introduced us with a new score that gives an eerie and dark feeling during the transformation sequence. The transformation is also very fluid which obviosly took a effort to do and it shows. The main interesting shot is where Cell shields not only himself but the entire island to prevent interuptions in his completion while Trunks tries to interupt but in vain. The power can even be felt in the New Namek as finally, Perfect Cell showed himself. Gosh, the animation was brilliant with Perfect Cell's face shots that resembles that of Goku, Frieza and Piccolo since all their cells were engineered into him. Perfect Cell's voice actor, Norio Wakamoto seem to underplay his role impressively which builds up an intense hype and suspense for future key scenes that leads to epic events. While in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Goku is forced to go all-out on his son as Goku fires KaMeHaMeHa which was dodged by Gohan at point blank range. His inner conflicts of being unable to help his companions on various occasions made him to hit his limit by transforming into a Super Saiyan by firing back the attack to his dad in such intense momentum and briliant choreography. As I've said, this episode is one to be memorable for ages to come as the animation and plot unfolding were both top-notch. Perfect Cell is definetly one of the best villains to be ever created in any franchise as it infuses sci-fic with action adventure and TOEI Animation deserve all plause of going all guns blazing either in animation, music, camera/choreography and plot. Once again, this episode is certainly one of the best DBZ episode in the Jap Version. Eng Version as usual takes away all the impact and emotions on the scene by placing some terrible voice acting and plain musicsmoreless

  • Reasons for Cell's completion; Vegeta's ego and Krillin's boner.

    7.3
Cell's transformation is nearing its complete. Trunks tries his best to stop it, but a shield forms around the green monster. Meanwhile, Gohan demands that Goku battle to his limits, and as a result, Gohan turned Super Saiyan. However, an even more superior transformation in Cell's perfection was completed. Krillin tries avenging his lover's (Android 18) loss, but he easily gets handled.

This is another one of those episodes when you think back, what the hell happened? The episode started off with Cell transforming, and it basically ended with him finished his transformation. Just so much filler, with the exception of Gohan's Super Saiyan transformation, which was a core part of the story. However, this episode was still filled with a lot of filler.moreless
