If anyone thought that the fight couldn't get any fiercer, then a big surprise awaits. Piccolo and then others learned firsthand that their own techniques were essentially programmed into Cell. Now, a very big headache awaits Goku, as he suddenly faces his and the other Z Fighters' best techniques. Goku, however, rises to the challenge. Victory against Cell and outright survival depend on both quick thinking and action.moreless

    This episode is pretty good especially Goku and Perfect Cell's transformation. Fluid and decent action choreography with intense fight as compared to the previous episode since it was warming up. The music is good as with the voice acting. Even the characterizations were good though the mood or the tempo of the climatic battle weren't consistent. Still, mark my words. The coming episode has yet to be! Climatic, racy with impulsive and blood pumping action sequences. Sorry for the spoilers, but this episode plays a vital role with typical DBZ fare which are required to satisfy the regular DBZ fans ranging from a 5 year kid to 50 year seniour citizens. As with that in their mind, TOEI Animation made this episode which was way back in Japan in 1992 to satisfy everyone regardlessly. But in any way, there are no comparison to this episode with Frieza's battles as the treatment to this episode is good and I am sure that the current DBZ animators are immensely talented.moreless

  • Even with Cell's doppelganger moves, Goku has not problem keeping up, but can he maintain that?

    The episode opens with Goku continuing to power up. After an awesome power-up, Goku is ready again to go at Cell, but Cell thought now was a good time for him as well to power-up to his maximum. While the other Z-fighters marvel at Goku's and Cell's new strength, Gohan watches casually, as if not even phased by itlike father like son. Goku starts off round 2 with a kick and a punch, though having little effect. After that, they continue their supersonic battle, neither dominating. Again, each seems to be having their times of their lives. Then Cell pulls a Tien and splits into four, each attacking Goku at the same time, but Goku is more than able to handle them. The four Cells then each land at a corner of the platform and fire "Special Beam Cannons" at Goku, who's in the center. Goku zips outta of the way without breaking a sweat, the Cells in hot pursuit. Falling into his trap, the Cells are taken off guard when Goku double-backs and knocks them all into the platform below. While the Cells merge back into one, Trunks and Krillin rejoice that he was defeatedVegeta quickly straightened them out. Cell then gets up and fires a Destructo Disk at Goku, frieza's version. He tries to lead it back towards Cell, but having Frieza's cell within him, he catches on right away and fires another one. On King Kai's planet, King Kai complains to himself that if the fight continues, Earth may suffer the same fate as Namek. Using a couple of afterimages, Goku gets away from the disks. Cell powers up for a "Kamehameha Wave", alarming everyone. Needing to get it away from Earth, Goku jumps into the air and begins to fly upwards, forcing Cell to redirect the blast upwards. Waiting until the last second, Goku makes sure the blast will go into space before "Instant Transmitting" back onto the stage. Cell inquires how Goku was able to do that and he tells him about the "Instant Transmission", intriguing Cell. Cell then reveals that he knew Goku would something heroic like that, so he expected nothing less. Suddenly, Cell appears next to Goku and knees him in the face. As the episode ends, it would seem Cell has upped his speed, giving him the advantage.moreless

    Cell attacks Goku with a dazzling array of moves, the Destructo Disc, the Special Beam Cannon, even the Kamehameha Wave! But when Cell uses one of Frieza's techniques, King Kai becomes increasingly worried that if Cell can't beat Goku, he would do the same as Frieza and try to destroy the planet. So far, Goku has been able to match Cell blow for blow, but how will the Super Saiyan fare against such a lethal arsenal?

    The fighting was quite dull and to quick there was sitlle the lack of action. I didnt find this episode all so escitingmoreless

    Goku and Cell are finally done warming up, and have pushed it up another notch. The two seem to be at equal strength for a while, until Cell uses one of Goku's comrade's techniques; dividing himself among four equal parts. However, Goku defeated it. He then used Frieza's disc technique that brought his end at Namek. Goku again prevails.

    You'll rarely find a person complaining about the fighting in Dragonball Z outside of being repetitive, since it's so damn entertaining. But unfortunately, the fighting in this episode is well, repetitive. Literally for the full twenty minutes, it was nothing but fighting, and there wasn't much variety put into it to really make it good. It's still decent though.moreless
