When Vegeta is unable to get the people of Earth to give their energy, the team begins despairing. Old Buu gets knocked out and Vegeta is forced to return to the battle. Goku begins pleaing with the people of Earth, but they refuse to listen. Only a few others give any energy. Finally, Hercule steps up and yells at the Earthlings to raise their hands and Majin Buu will be destroyed.

First time Piccolo laughed since near the beginning of the series.
Upa is a teenager here, but he is almost as old as Goku because we meet him when Goku is still just a kid.
Goku: (in a despairing voice) No, it's all over.
Piccolo: (chuckles) Go champ. I don't believe it, that guy, I swear. HAHAHAHA!
Vegeta: I can assure you... this is not a dream.
Android 17: (About Goku) Now there's a voice I haven't heard in a while. (Two hunters are walking along, when 17 jumps out and points a rifle at them. They immediately drop their guns and put their hands up in the air.)
Android 17: Aw, you beat me to it. (He then also raises his hand to the sky.)
Japanese Airdate: November 29th, 1995
Japanese Title: Big Appreciation! It's here, Everyone's Energy Ball...
Thanks to Hercule they were able to complete the spirit bomb.
The "cat in charge of the royal military" is the King of the World. And is more of a dog type creature than a cat.
Tien and Launch are 39.
In the original version, 17 made a cameo here. Now dressed as a hunter type, he pulls a shotgun on some people to get them to raise their hands for the Genki Dama (Spirit Bomb) and then raises his own. This shows that 17 was revived way back when they revived everyone killed by Cell, and also explains his upcoming return in GT. -Coola
A lot of cameos from the original Dragon Ball series are here. From what I've seen this includes a now teenage Upa, Bora, Eighter (the eighth android), a grownup Suno and her village, Launch (the girl who mentions "That guy sounded cool"), Nam, Monster Beast Giran, Bandages, and Spike the Devil.
Here's a list of all the people who make cameos in this episode:
Bora, Upa, Yajirobe, Korin, Android 17, Tenshinhan, Chaozu, Snow and her village along with Android 8, Lunch, the punks that Saiyaman apprehended back in the early Buu saga, Namu and his village, Giran and his fellow dinosaur-things, Baba's fighters "Bandages the Mummy" and "Devil Man," and the cat in charge of the Royal Military from the Piccolo Saga of DB and Cell Saga of DBZ. Whew!
