Gohan and Cell are about to start the final battle of the cell games. Gohan can only use one hand, but that's all he needs. The two fighters unleash huge Kamehamehas and start the showdown. Goku helps his son, even though he is dead. He communicates to Gohan with King Kai's help. He knows that Gohan is holding back some of his power. "If you're still worried about the Earth, whatever damage you do to it can be repaired by the dragon balls!" Goku tells his son. Gohan unleashes more power. Cell, who is in his best health and stronger than ever (since he regenerated his whole body, which gave him more power), starts to gain the upper hand. Piccolo, who is nearby, wants to help Gohan. He separates from Yamcha, Tien, and Krillin and attacks Cell, but, it has no effect. Cell attacks Piccolo and he is knocked over and hurt badly. The others join Piccolo. Even with all of their attacks combined, Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, and Tien cannot help out Gohan, and have been defeated. Gohan, who is worried about his friends, starts to slip even more. Goku tells him that they will be fine and to concentrate. Gohan evens out the match. But, he is still not strong enough in his weakened state. But then, a powerful blast hit's Cell. But who attacked? Everyone looks up, including Cell, and they see Vegeta. Cell, distracted and injured, loses his control. Gohan takes this opportunity to unleash everything he can. Cell is destroyed, right down to the last cell. Everyone celebrates. Now, to Kame's tower, so they can make their wishes.moreless

  • The battle between Gohan and Cell comes to an explosive end

    10
One of Dragon Ball Z's best episodes by far begins with the exciting final clash between Cell and Gohan. With Cell back from seeming destruction and Gohan badly wounded, the two lock in a Kamehameha duel to the death. The remaining Z fighters put aside their hesitations and rush to help Gohan even though they realize there might be nothing they can do. Ultimately, though, it is Vegeta who gives Gohan the final assist he needs at the very last second. Guided by the voice of his father, Gohan unleahses his full power and obliterates the android once and for all. A prized episode in anime history!moreless
  • And so ends the reign of Cell. A great, action packed episode. The great Kamehameha struggle of the Cell Games is upon us, the suspense is maddening.

    9.5
Backed by Goku, Gohan and Cell are locked in a Kamehameha struggle of epic proportions. As the point of contact grows bigger and bigger, the world slower breaks apart more and more. All across the world, everyone feels the effect of this final showdown. At first it's a 50-50 struggle, but Cell begins to push the blast towards Gohan, thus shifting it 85-15. As Gohan begins to slip, Goku tries to push Gohan further, telling him he has the power to beat Cell, he just needs to let it all out. He does so and balance is restored, if only temporary as Cell reintensifies his blast. Realizing that Gohan must be holding back to protect the Earth, Goku tells Gohan not to worry since the world can be brought back with the Dragonballs. Seeing that Gohan is struggling against Cell, Piccolo charges in and attacks Cell, but is easily brushed away with a simple flick of Cell's aura. The others follow Piccolo's example and all attack Cell. Of course, they are but flea bites to Cell and he blows them all away…yet they keep getting up, never quitting, even though it's a mite point. Each time they fall, Gohan grows more and more enraged, pushing Cell to go all out or lose the struggle. Finally unable to get up, the Z-fighters (minus Vegeta) wait to accept their fate. Goku continues to edge Gohan on, but he still cant make a difference until Vegeta steps in. Hovering high above them, he had time to prepare a powerful Final Flash that he silently executed. Although it didn't do any damage, it did distract him, exactly what Gohan needed. As Goku screams for Gohan to finish off Cell, Gohan gives it a final burst and walks with the Kamehameha wave closer to Cell. He is engulfed in the blast and every cell in his being is destroyed. Everyone is shocked by Gohan's triumph and celebrate Cell's defeat. End of episode.moreless
  • Gohan and Cell both lauch their Kamehameha Waves at each other. Only one will be left standing.

    8.5
The episode begins where Cell and Gohan begin their power struggle trying to overpower each other with their Kamehameha Waves. Gohan can only use one arm but he's giving it all he's got. Goku is communicating with Gohan telepathically and tells Gohan to give it everything he's got. However even after Gohan uses his full power, Cell is still too strong for him. Goku continues to encourage Gohan.

Piccolo decides that Gohan needs help rushes to the battle field to his aid. Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha soon join him. They begin using their signature moves to attack Cell in an attempt to weaken him, but to no avail. They keep trying but are eventually overpowered by Cell.

Then Vegeta comes in and uses his Gatlic Gun on Cell. Cell is damaged and shocked. Gohan uses this chance to overpower Cell. Gohan is too strong for Cell and eventually gets killed by the Kamehameha Wave.

    Earth is safe once again.moreless
  • Lots of action and very dramatic!

THe usual dragged out fighting. The Kamehameha wave sequence

was way too long but in between that were dramatic bits of all the z fighters trying their best too try to stop cell. Krillen bought this episode a little more timme by bieng the cowardly idioot he usually is. But i loved the time when cell died (FINALLy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) All around a good solid episode ending the cell sagamoreless
  • Dragged out but exciting and dramatic finish.

    8.0
Cell seems to have the edge in the power struggle to save earth, but Goku uses words to help motivate his son into battling harder. However, Cell was just overwhelming with energy. Piccolo couldn't watch anymore, and pitched in to help Gohan. Tien, Krillin, and Yamcha joined in, but it wasn't enough. That's when Vegeta blasted Cell, which gave Gohan the opportunity to completely demolish Cell.

This episode was dragged out, your typical Dragonball Z episode. But it ended pretty good. How everyone pitched in to help was pretty well played out, and how Goku got himself involved was also great. It was even surprising how Vegeta got a blast in. Though what I loved the most is how everyone who tried helping Gohan persistently tried blasting Cell away, but were constantly blown away. The episode is dragged down by the usual dumb fillers, but a good episode still.moreless
