EDIT
The Ultimate Battle

In The Ultimate Battle, Goku finally squares off against the evil Frieza, and Frieza is awed by Goku's power. King Kai predicts hopefully that Goku has a better chance of taking Frieza down than anyone else. Much to the horror of the Z-fighters, Goku is thrown into a pit of lava. It's a battle that will take everything Goku has.

  • The beginning of one of the best battles.

    8.0
This episode was above average because the fighting scenes were nothing special but to see goku fighting really well is great. Frieza even admits he is the strongest saiyen he's ever battled. The fight continues and Frieza thinks he has finished off Goku in the Lava but goku is still back as strong as ever. Even though they seem equal I think Frieza has some tricks up his sleeve. Also the parts with Bulma and King Kai were very boring but the battle was good. I just know this Frieza saga will be awesome and just cant wait for the next episodes. I hope Goku can continue battling well.moreless
  • The starting of a battle that lasts forever

    8.9
Goku begins his ultimate battle against Frieza, and it seems he and Frieza are equally matched, and even Frieza has to admit that he is the strongest saiyan by far. Meanwhile, King Kai reveals that Goku might just have a chance, that if anyone could take down the evil Frieza, it would be him. Goku and Frieza match blow for blow, and Piccolo, Gohan and Krillin have trouble just watching them. The Z-fighters watch on anxiously as Goku is thrown into a pool of lava, and it seems that no-one stands a chance now, but Goku rushes up to the surface and reveals he is only starting to warm up.moreless
  • Average, that's all I have to say.

    7.5
The ultimate battle between Frieza and Goku commences. Surprisingly, Goku is faring quite well against the almighty Frieza, who's haveing a hard time predicting the Saiyan's moves. They pretty much fight on equal planes, until Frieza fooled himself into thinking Goku was burned in the molting lava. Even King Kai was surprised at Goku's development.

What else can I say? I wasn't really entertained by this episode; I was trying to keep myself awake when this episode was rolling, but that was because I was already tired. The fighting really didn't seem anything out of the ordinary; the only thing that was was Goku fighting on equal planes with Frieza. Other than that, too much filler, like unnecessary Bulma and King Kai scenes.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Upon fighting with Frieza, Goku notices that he cannot sense energy even though the Earth fighters in the series do so as if it were second nature.

    • When Krillin is in the air calling Gohan to come, he's wearing his orange suit instead of his Saiyan armor.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Piccolo: (talking about Goku) Just look at him, he never ceases to amaze me. I wouldn't mind fighting him again one day, just for grins.

    • Frieza: Shoot! Where did this guy come from? How could a Saiyan have such incredible fighting power, so many of them have tried and they've all died. Even the greatest of them were just child's play. But this ones different...he's fantastic!

    • Goku: You seem to delight in seeing other people suffer, and you treat life like a disposable comodity. You destroy homes, you take the lives of innocent peace loving people, you even take the lives of children, and all of this for your own amusement or personal gain. Well, now it's your turn.
Frieza: Oh and I suppose the great super saiyan is going to rise up and magically defeat what has never been defeated, it's legend, fantasy.
Goku: Who cares, look I don't care about the stupid legend, trust me, it's me that's going to stop you.

    • Goku: Just what's your deal anyway Frieza?
Frieza: Well...basically I'm trying to kill you.
