  • AWESOME! One word describes the entire episode.

AWESOME! One word describes the entire episode. The entire fight of Super Vegeta vs Perfect Cell is "complete" in this episode with next up Trunks. Man! The animation is top-notch and very fluid both in terms of animation and plot. Epic musical score by Shunsuke Kikuchi especially the Final Flash sequence really established Vegeta, Perfect Cell as well as Trunks characterizations well. Next, the voice acting. Brilliant! Vegeta and Perfect Cell were both in the lime light especially Cell's voice actor, Norio Wakamoto. He has the unique capability of ranging his vocal pitch to various characterizations. Ryo Horikawa as Vegeta as usual did a spendid job of injecting his soul as Vegeta's pride were all brought forth with such energy. Even Future Trunks, voiced by Takeshi Kusae were good with complete emotion and soul. It makes me wonder, how does DBZ has some of the most astounding and impressive voice actors that bring life into their characters on the screen. As I have said, the animation is very good as well as the camerawork/choreography with excellent artwork. The great effort of TOEI Animation must be commended especially the animators. Every aspect were scored perfectly in the Jap Version. As for the Eng Version, the voice acting, music, as well as the dialogue were pathetic with the lame one-liners. Maybe its just me, but, Dameon Clark as Perfect Cell wasn't fitting of for a climatic and battle mood besides the inability to play under the skin making the characterizations to be lost. Even Trunks was inapropriate as it seemed forced and completely embarasing during the ascensionmoreless
  • Vegeta's final flash and Trunks fight with Cell.

    9.5
In this episode we see one of Vegeta's greatest attacks, his Final Flash against Cell. This is a chance to see Vegeta in all his glory unleashed. Trunks becomes massive and more powerful than cell but his giant muscules slow him down too much and he can't catch Cell who lets Vegeta escape and gets the idea to hold a tournament instead of killing Trunks there and then. This is a great episode to see the might of a super Saiyan from Vegeta's Final Flash to Trunks' acended Saiyan power and it ends with the villan in control and decission to have mercy.moreless
  • THe final flash....

tHE FINAl flash was an awesome attack and should have hurt cell even MORE. The rest of the epiosde was funny when trunks looked at krillen with blank eyes but there was nothing moremoreless
  • Dragged out suspense lol

    7.0
Vegeta easily gets clowned around by Cell, being played like a pinball. However, Vegeta attempts one more attack. His Final Flash. Cell continues to scoff it off, but he wasn't laughing for long when the attack destroyed his right arm. However, thanks to Piccolo's cells, he was able to regenerate himself back, and beat Vegeta down nearly to death. Trunks decides it's time to show off his true powers.

That flashback scene(s) of Vegeta remembering how he kicked Cell directly on the neck was an utter waste of ten seconds. So it's only ten seconds; it may be one of the worse ten seconds in Dragonball Z history. Other than that, seeing Final Flash was pretty cool, though it took way too long to develop. The usual exaggeration of how the attacks causes earthquakes for ten straight minutes just felt pointless. Still, Final Flash was utter sweet.moreless

    • Cell: Ah, ah, ah. Don't even think about it, 16. If you value what's left of your head, I suggest you stay right where you are.

    • Trunks: Just you wait Cell! If it's a good fight you want, then it's a good fight you'll get!

    • Trunks: You're going to destroy the whole planet! Father! You've got to stop it!
      Krillin: Trunks, lets go!
      Vegeta: Final flash!
      Cell: What's this!

    • Vegeta: There, did you like that?
(The dust clears to reveal that Cell is missing his right arm)
Heh. I'll take that as a yes.

    • Krillin: Look! Vegeta changed! He's not a Super Saiyan anymore! That means he's either unconscious or he's...well, you know!

    • (Vegeta is aming his Final Flash at Cell)
Vegeta: Now if you really want to test your strength stay right where you are!
Trunks: So, that's what he's doing! He's trying to provoke Cell into challenging his attack!
Krillin: Okay, that's one explanation! How about this one, Vegeta's lost his mind and he's gonna fry us all!

    • Cell: Vegeta, I hate to interrupt your little nap, but I think it's time we should continue.
      Vegeta: Why, you...
Cell: But first there is one thing I'd like to mention. I'd like to thank you for sparing me before I became complete, regardless of how utterly foolish it was. You see, I've been waiting for this for a long time and it's always nice to receive a helping hand!

    • Cell: Now look. You spent all that time saying I wouldn't be a challenge and now you're giving up without a good fight? That's very rude. (talking to Vegeta as he barely manages to climb out of the ocean
