  • The Z Fighters learn of the Cell Games

    "Good"
The episode opens with Krillian and Vegeta returning to the scene of Trunks and Cell's fight to find Trunks all by himself. When Vegeta demands to know what happened. Trunks reveals Cell's plan to stage a Martial Arts Tournament known as The Cell Games.

Android 16 who everyone thought was dead puts his hand up and says he will fight. Krillin takes him to Capsule Corp to get fixed up. Master Roshi, Yamcha and Bulma meet up with the guys at Capsule Corp.

Master Roshi tells them all about the history of The Martial Arts Tournament. This was definetly the most interesting part of the episode, an gave Dragonball fans a refresher and non Dragonball fans a taste of what happened.

Overall a fairly good episode much better than some of the other episodes recently. Cell Games Saga starts out well.moreless

Cell calls a World Martial Arts Tournament, "I am Cell! I have a message for all the people of earth! I've decided to hold a martial arts tournament. I'm calling the competition, 'The Cell Games.' Bring me your best fighters and I will face them one-by-one in a contest of strength. This is the last chance for planet Earth. If I am not defeated, it belongs to me!"

The future of the Earth is at stake, but fortunately the Z Fighters have been training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Even with the enhanced training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, do they stand a chance against Cell in his perfect form?moreless
  • Better than usual.

    7.6
    "Good"
Cell left Trunks in humility. Everyone is gathered within Capsule Corp in order to explain the situation. Even Android 16 wants to be involved, and has changed his allegiance. Goku and Gohan continue to train hard, ignorant of the events going on outside the chamber. Cell completes the arena for the Martial Arts Tournament.

A usual episode filled with fillers, but there was more redeeming value than usual. The fighting between Goku and Gohan in the Hyperbolic time chamber was a lot more entertaining than previous fights, most notably the Cell vs. Trunks, since it added variety. Plus, the recap of the martial arts tournament was something good to remember. It brought back memories, and set up the mood pretty decently.moreless
