Episode Summary

Master Roshi previously offered Goku a chance to train under him, and it's now time to make good. However, he's not the only one heading to Kame House. Young Krillin also wants some Turtle Hermit training. He doesn't like the idea of a fellow student, so a rivalry of sorts develops. Master Roshi is definitely going to have his hands full with Goku and Krillin. Out in the desert, Goku's old friends are stranded and could really use his help right now.moreless

    "Goku's Rival" is the first episode of the "First World Martial Arts Championship Saga".
    It seems that all the voices of the characters, apart from Bulma have changed for some reason- which makes the episode feel a little different. Goku sounds more like a woman trying to be a man, and Yamcha sounds like an action hero. Anyway, having gone their separate ways last episode, Goku goes to Master Roshi's to become his pupil. There is a lot of adult humour involved when Goku arrives as we see Roshi reading Porn and staring at a woman's crotch who is exercising (I thought this was a kids show- lol). Anyway after a number of laughs, we meet another guy who wants to become Roshi's pupil- as the title suggest he will become Goku's rival. 9 out of 10 for a few great laughs.
