Mark of the Demon
AIRED:

Tambourine continues his killing rampage by killing Bacterian and Manwolf. Back at the Kame House, Master Roshi and the gang think of a plan to defeat King Piccolo using the Dragonballs and to make a freezing capsule to preserve Krilllin's body for another year. King Piccolo creates another demon called Cymbal to get the Dragonballs. Goku wakes up trying to find food. He finds a fish cooking above a fire and decides to eat it. A boulder is thrown at him. Goku dodges the boulder and threatens the stranger to come out. The stranger comes out claiming that Goku stole his fish.

    • Goku: I'm back to full strength! And now I'm coming for you Tambourine, you hear me!?

    • (This entire scene below was deleted)
      Master Roshi: Pale, pale gray...
Pu'ar: What? Who is pale gray?
Yamcha: Wait! Is this pale gray a great warrior, master?
Master Roshi: No, it's nothing like that... (we see Bulma's skirt in the reflection in his glasses) Pale gray is the color of Bulma's panties...
      Everyone: Huuuh?
(Bulma freaks out and covers herself)
Bulma: You were staring at my underwear this whole time?! (whacks Roshi over the head several times)
Roshi: No! I started at your knees! (gets whacked again)
Roshi: (on the floor, with bumps all over) More cocoa, anyone...? I'm already up...
Bulma: Don't you have any sense of decency, Roshi?!
Roshi: (stands up) That's nice... kill a guy for trying to lighten the mood... I mean, can't you people take a joke?
Tien Shinhan: This is not the time for jokes...
Roshi: No, I guess you're right, Tien...

  • NOTES (7)

    • Original Air Date: March 9th, 1988

    • Japanese Title: Come Back to Life, Son Goku!

    • In the Blue Water dub version, Man-Wolf's death scene was shown but the blood and stick in his back was digitally removed.

    • Cut Scenes: Piccolo burping after drinking the juice is cut. (Yet, they leave in him puking up an egg. Smart, FUNi.) This is idiotic. What, is a burp too offensive for TV? Jesus...

They cut a short scene of Kuririn (as a skeleton) saying "Oh, gee, pals! Thanks a lot!" followed by his head falling off. This was totally pointless. In fact, I found the chibi Kuririn skeleton absolutely adorable (for the record, his head falls off for a split second, and then he picks it up and puts it back on...so it's not like it was violent or anything).

Scene of Man-Wolf (in human form) floating down a river, face down, blood streaming everywhere and turning the water around him red. There is a stick in his back with the "Ma" symbol on it. Some villagers come across the body and get freaked out. This whole scene was deleted.

    • Blue Water Dub Title: Is Goku Alive?!

    • The scene with Master Roshi getting caught looking through Bulma's skirt was cut from the edited version.

    • This is the first appearance of Cymbal and Yajirobe.
