    • TRIVIA (2)

      ADD TRIVIA
      • Out of the three (3) Martial Arts tournaments Yamcha has been a part of, he is never able to make it past his first opponent in the quarterfinals. 1st: Jackie Chun (Master Roshi). 2nd: Tien Shinhan. 3rd: Hero (Kami).

      • Dub Change: In the original Japanese version and the manga chapter covering this episode, Goku finds out Hero's true identity based off of his name alone. Hero's name in the Japanese version is "Shen," short for "Shenron," the name of the dragon god summoned from the dragonballs. With Shen's named changed in the dub version of the show, the writers only rely on the other bit of information that first makes Goku suspicious of Hero-- the conversation Hero and Yamcha have during their match.

      ADD QUOTES
      • Roshi: Tien Shinhan is facing an uphill battle if he thinks he can defeat Goku with his usual tactics. Despite all that running around, he hasn't even lost his breath. Clearly, he has learned to control his energy, conserving just enough to stay one step ahead of Tien. Such power, if I weren't wearing glasses, I wouldn't believe my eyes!
